About Coach

I came from a background of minimal exercise. I did a few sports growing up but my love for fitness began when I started CrossFit in 2015. I never touched a barbell or did a pull-up. Everything was brand new and super foreign to me, but it was FUN. I loved how every day was different and I enjoyed pushing myself. As I grew in confidence with CrossFit, I explored and eventually fell in love with nutrition. Food was always a battle for me, but I learned food is what fuels my workouts. I have a background in teaching children but that soon carried over to coaching adult athletes. There's no greater joy than someone understanding their athletic ability and utilizing their skills that they never knew they had, both with fitness and nutrition. I am a mom of two energetic boys and I want to be an example to them and to all of the athletes that I get the privilege of coaching.

Turning Point

I used to be so scared of the barbell. I always felt insecure and unsure of how to lift it properly. Now it's one of my favorite things about CrossFit. I remember when I first squatted my body weight and what a huge accomplishment that was for me and now it's almost doubled! When I was pregnant with my first son, I had to slow down quite a bit, but I continued to work out and move. The hardest thing was coming back and trying to do all the movements I was familiar with and failing at them. I had to work at getting back into and it was definitely deflating. After having my second son, I was so proud of my body. So proud of the babies I grew and brought into the world and so proud of my fitness. I crave exercise now. My mind and body NEED it. I love coaching and seeing everyone else's “proud” moments.

Motivation & Passion

I love the confidence that CrossFit gives other people, inside and outside the gym. Pushing yourself and getting outside of your comfort zone is HARD and scary, but people realize they can do it and do it well. That's my favorite part. It makes people confident! I love working with newer CrossFit athletes. I feel that I am good at making these athletes feel comfortable and more confident. Overall, my biggest motivation is seeing people become healthy- mind, spirit, and body and helping them to love themselves
