Growing up I never played sports or did anything athletic until high school! I joined the swim and track teams and began a love for fitness. Heading into college, at random, I selected Exercise science as my major and now over 10 years later my professional and personal lives are devoted to physical fitness and nutrition. My work started at Virginia Tech in sports performance and has moved through most styles of training. Currently, I lead a region of non-profit work focused on making fitness equitable for all in rural parts of Virginia. I coach CrossFit as a passion of mine. I love being surrounded by like-minded individuals who love a good, grueling workout!
I really just fell into fitness and nutrition. Once I had my first child I was focused on being my healthiest self. I wasn’t motivated to bounce back from postpartum, but to really live as fully and as long as possible for her. I didn’t want to sit on the sidelines at the park, hide at the beach, or miss opportunities, because of my own physical fitness. I’m trying to stay as physically fit and healthy for as long as possible to enjoy every moment with my kids.
As someone who grew up with little physical fitness or knowledge, I truly enjoy helping people find some part of exercise that is enjoyable to them. I’m a working mom of two toddlers and have 200 work children I train and mentor, typically pulling 60-70 hour weeks. I don’t want people to feel guilt about their nutrition or fitness but empowered to make the best choices for their lifestyle and families that will keep them enjoying a lifetime of health and freedom.
